Wellness Wednesday: Introduction

2007040920070409dscf8148

Update as of March 21, 2008: I am no longer writing Wellness Wednesday Post.  Many changes are transpiring here on this little blog of mine and in my life in the coming months and I am channeling my focus elsewhere.  I want to thank all who participated and all who continue to write Wellness Wednesday post!  I encourage all of you to continue and begin.  The badge below will still be active, and who knows?  I may start again in the future!  Be Well everyone!

Motivated by my New Moon work that I wrote about here, and The Sacred Life Project Carla started many of us on, I am launching Wellness Wednesday.

My intention is to create a day where we can collectively observe our commitment to wellness by sharing the things that we do for ourselves that support our health.  This may be a post on diet, yoga, small personal rituals done daily to maintain body health, tips, recipes, resources, encouragement and antidotes.  It can be anything that is part of your intentional practice of nurturing your wellness.

I believe this type of practice is important in bringing us back into conscious observance of our health, as well as creating community support in a world where we tend to neglect our health, and are also accustomed to placing our health in the hands of professionals that don't really know us and our bodies, and often times, due to overwork, insurance company restrictions and what not, forget to see us as a whole Being and not just physical symptoms that need to be suppressed.

Wellness Wednesday is about empowerment, acknowledgment and sharing.  Its about celebrating the millions of unique ways we can enhance our health and be responsible for the bodies we have.

I will be creating a link list in the side bar of all those who want to participate.  My vision is that after several weeks of doing this, we can find a way to pull together all of these posts into an archive we can all dip into for ideas, inspiration and support.

I will also be working on a badge for us to have and link back to as well, and hope to have it done by next Wednesday.  So please feel free to post and let me know if you would like to join in and be part of the list.  I will be putting up links as names get added.

Update!  Woohoo!  The fabulous Leah, came up with the following badge for us.

Others of you are creating some as well, and I'm thinking of including them all as they come through, just because they are all looking so yummy!  Thank you all!

Ok... so you should be able to cut and paste the following code to get the badge on your blog!

Until next Wednesday, Be Well.

Manuscripts For The Journey

  • Journals are sacred manuscripts that hold the makings of our Selves in our lives. They are magical containers for our weavings and meanderings through all of our human existence. Writing your-Self down into a book made of sacred images and by intentioned hands, creates a container for the alchemy that forges you into a new being. I crafts these books as Portals into your deeper realms. They are my art and my spiritual service. If any of these find their way into your lives I pray the serve you in your journey. Journals on sale at WWW.ManuscriptsForTheJourney.com Blessed Be.

Original Art

  • Mixed Media, Photo Transfer, Collage and anything else that desires to be created through my process of self exploration, meditation, and communion with the beauty of life. Art for sale can be found at www.lunaradornments.com

Trees Of Life Series

  • Trees Of Life Series: Grounding
Trees of Life is a series of 21 original mixed media drawings that I have been working on. Each piece features a word or concept that belongs to the sacred experience of life. Reminders of what it is that life can offer. I envision each of these pieces to be anchors around a home. A visual moment to bring you back into center. A visual moment of meditation and stillness.
